Independent Street organise excellent markets in Cheshire and beyond, supporting a wide variety of small, creative and independent businesses – so we wanted to explore everything that’s brilliant about them!

Based around Cheshire, their events are ideal to meet your friends and family, whilst shopping ethically and sustainably.

Great Sankey Market
The award-winning Great Sankey Market is held in Warrington, Cheshire, on the third Saturday of each month. Showcasing over 60 traders, the artisan stallholders here are always a curated mixture of old and new faces.
You’ll find the usual market fayre; local food, drink, art, crafts and street food, plus live music and activities for children too.
With free entry to the market, this is the ideal opportunity to shop small and meet the makers behind the products that you’re buying! A fun day out for all the family.
Bents Garden & Home Market
The Bents Garden & Home Market is BRAND NEW for 2022 – but it’ll be back in 2023 too, so watch this space for new dates! Taking place outside the Bents Garden & Home centre in Warrington, Cheshire.
Find 60 stallholders offering local food and drink including baked goods, freshly roasted coffee, Indian delicacies, Northern gin sellers, cakes, local cheeses and even a Lebanese deli, plus a variety of artisan crafts and gift inspiration including handcrafted jewellery, artwork, hand poured candles, wax melts, local photography and prints and dog treats. There will also be live music, henna art and craft areas for little ones provided by Carter’s Crafty Cardboard.
Colne Artisan Market
Run in conjunction with the Colne BID, this seasonal market is popping up four times in 2022, so don’t miss out!
With 50 local stallholders offering street food, drink, artwork and crafts, Colne Artisan Market has plenty to see, including live music, cookery demonstrations and street entertainers!
Prestbury Artisan Market
Prestbury Artisan Market is a twice-annual market brought to you by Independent Street, working alongside the Prestbury Parish Council and Cheshire East, taking place in the lovely setting of Prestbury’s main village High Street.
Providing a traditional local market, join the community atmosphere and shop for locally made pies, cakes and gins, local cheeses, handmade candles, olives and mezze, gourmet dog treats, artisan soaps, health and beauty products and much more, all made by local Cheshire makers.
Burnley Artisan Market
Independent Street work alongside Burnley Council and Burnley BID to bring Burnley Artisan Market to Lancashire on the first Saturday of each month.
Find tasty treats, street food, drink and crafts, with live music providing a great setting and a vibrant atmosphere.
Birchwood Shopping Centre Market
Birchwood Shopping Centre Market brings small, independent businesses to Birchwood Shopping Centre in Warrington, providing a fantastic day of food, drink, art and craft shopping.
As well as 50 stallholders and live music, you can find face painters to keep the children entertained. With free entry and free parking too, it’s the ideal place to take the family!
