Hastings Makers Market is on sporadically throughout the year, 11am to 4pm, always on Saturday.
It's an open-air market with an electric atmosphere. With over 50 independent stalls and a plethora of open studios, it gives you the chance to meet the people who make to products, as well as offering a glimpse into the space they make them in.
We host a carefully curated selection of stalls, with a mixture of vintage clothes and treasures, hand made gifts, clothes and home wears, fine art, locally produced food and garden plants. Whilst we’re very proud to be showcasing local talent, with makers coming not only from Hastings and St Leonards, we also have creatives coming from further afield; from Margate to Brighton, even as far as East London and Essex.
Pitches are often filled with local jewellers, offering vintage, custom and handmade jewellery, deadstock, upcycled or handmade apparel, local cheese, fresh cold pressed juices, fine art prints, paintings and originals, ceramicists with hand thrown kitchenware, vases and sculptures, vintage stalls offering random paraphilia, kitchenalia and clothing, hand stitched or macraméd homewards and presents, antique furniture and locally grown garden plants. The quality, mix and standard of stallholders is unparelled.
We hope to have live music at all our markets this year. If we're really lucky, we may have DJs in the coolest ever mirrored vintage old English caravan. It has to be seen to be believed!
The market is hosted by The Yard, on Waterworks Road, which is a thriving community of small businesses, crafts-people and artists in the heart of Hastings. The Yard is a super cheerful place, filled with colour, street art and good vibes. Come for a peruse and treat to yourself to a burger from our resident burger legends HalfMan!HalfBurger!.
