We’ve put together a list of the Best Independent Christmas Markets in Surrey in 2026 to make it easy for you to embrace the spirit of the season and shop from great local makers this year!
Why Surrey?
The most densely-wooded county in the UK, Surrey is famous for its scenic landscapes and rolling green hills, giving way to famous gardens like the iconic RHS Wisley and outstanding areas of natural beauty like the Surrey Hills, providing inspiration for authors such as Jane Austen. It’s also home to several famed historic sites including Hampton Court Palace and Runnymede.
Such picturesque settings provide an excellent backdrop for any traditional market, but during festive season, idyllic settings are key to creating that Christmassy atmosphere we all crave.
Christmas Markets are the perfect way to embrace the spirit of the winter months, providing places to meet friends and family, get cosy and gift shop, with tasty food and drink (bonus points if it’s local!) making those market visits all the more special.
Christmas Markets are also a great taster outing for markets you want to visit in other seasons too!
For now, here’s what’s on offer in November and December 2026…

The Best Independent Christmas Markets in Surrey
First up, we head to Farnham…
First up, we head to Farnham, for the renowned Maltings Monthly Market. Held at Farnham Maltings, this is one of the oldest and largest markets in Surrey, and worth a visit at any time of year! With 150 stalls both inside and outside of the main venue, this Christmas you’re sure to find seasonal goods alongside the usual fayre of artisan makes, local artwork, antiques and other vintage treasures, retro fashion, jewellery, ceramics, food and drink and much more. This market always has something new to discover, so it’s worth popping along every month! A true market for all seasons.
Also at Farnham Maltings is the Farnham Maltings Christmas Fair – also worth a visit to kick off the seasonal festivities, click here for details.

Next, let’s head to Guildford…
Guildford is famous for its historic, cobbled High Street and Norman castle in the centre if town – and what better way to catch it than on a High Street market day?
The Etsy Guildford Christmas Market at the Guildford Cathedral is always a huge event and super successful! If it’s not in your diary, get it in.
The Festive Market at The Guildford Pavilion is brand new in 2026 hosted by Curated by Dapper & Suave. One to check out as they run the lovely events at Denbies Wine Estate.
Guildford Vegan Fiesta & Villages is the perfect chance to explore the area; a pop-up market with dates this November and December! With amazing hot food of offer, plus cakes and tasty pastries, not to mention delicious deli items, this market has something new mouth-watering treats, making it the perfect place to meet friends and family and ensure everyone is pleased!
Of course, it wouldn’t be an artisan market without other artisan fayre, and you can also find handmade goods, natural skincare, eco-friendly gifts and vegan sustainable options. Run by Sparkle Vegan Events, it’s well worth checking out their other events too.
Other organisers to check out are Mynt Image, Pop Up Fairs Kent, Folk & Bespoke Markets and of course the wonderful Duck Pond Markets.
Not forgetting the iconic Denbies Wine Estate!
Another great choice for a festive event is the Christmas Pop Up Shopping Market at Denbies Wine Estate, brought to you by Curated by Dapper and Suave. Denbies is England’s largest vineyard, and with such picturesque surroundings, it’s the perfect place to shop for festive gifts.
