Who we are

I am an illustrator based just outside of Chester city, working from my narrowboat home/studio on the Shropshire Union canal. Life on the water very much inspires my work, from the wildlife to the beautiful country villages and gardens which line the UK’s waterways. By making work that is highly detailed, I hope to add an element of storytelling to my paintings.

Predominantly I work with pen, watercolour and gouache, but have also started to paint onto reclaimed wood slices. The wood is found, dried, cut, sanded and painted in my studio and I enjoy the process. Sustainability is very important to me and my small business. All of my printed products are designed especially for their purpose and printed in the UK on recycled materials where possible. My packaging is minimal and card is recycled and I use bio-cello’s for my art prints, greeting cards are sold plastic-free.

Being ‘an artist’ was always a dream when I was young. I went to uni in Swansea where I studied illustration and then spent a few years travelling and working abroad, which really helped me to relax and develop my work and artistic style. Travel and being ‘on the move’ has always been a big part of my life, which is why I’m drawn to map-making. I spend a lot of time researching and deciding what to include in these pieces, which is part of the fun!
