Designer-maker Vikki trades as Mae Kandoo. Inspired by nature, coastal walks and seaside resorts, Mae Kandoo’s range of gifts, souvenirs and home accessories stand out because of their bespoke quality and attention to detail. Quirky by nature and tactile by design, each product is statement piece about sustainability. Climate conscious, artisan gifts.
Decorative textile birds, souvenir pennants, striped seaside themed cushions and make-up bags that are bold and bright, offer an alternative to mass produced items. Mae Kandoo’s signature style combines differently textured fabrics with free motion machine embroidery. Using authentic vintage and reclaimed fabrics adds to the bespoke quality of each piece because the fabrics are only available in limited amounts. Often, one off pieces. Gifts that spread a little bit of handmade joy!

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT is at the core of Mae Kandoo products. Small batch production places value on the time taken to ensure quality – not mass! – production. Products are made to last as keepsakes to cherish. Using reclaimed and vintage materials already in circulation that are sourced within the UK minimizes the carbon footprint and helps to reduce textile waste.

PACKAGING…drawstring bags made from reclaimed fabrics that can be re-used. Customers are invited to share photos of how they re-use the bags on Instagram @maekandoo #reduceplasticwaste! Pre-used or eco friendly boxes (supporting Eden Reforestation Projects) are used for posting.
