Who we are

Hi, I’m Amanda, the maker behind Bowerbird Jewellery, and I’ve been making jewellery since I was a teenager. What started as a beloved hobby became a proper business back in 2010 — and over fifteen years later, I still feel the same excitement sitting down at my workbench as I did at the very beginning.

Bowerbird was born from a desire to make jewellery that reflects everything I love: the Arts and Crafts movement, William Morris, Art Nouveau and Art Deco, science, nature and beautiful floral prints.

All of that passion goes into every piece I design and make from my home studio in Cornwall. I want each piece to tell a story — and hopefully to find its way to someone who connects with that same sense of wonder and curiosity about the world.

My jewellery is bold, colourful and wonderfully individual — made from an eclectic mix of materials including high quality Liberty of London fabric, handmade paper, glass beads, gemstones, resin and even found beach plastic.

I love the process of bringing unexpected things together to create something entirely new. No two pieces are ever the same, because that’s the real magic of buying handmade — you’re getting something that exists nowhere else in the world.

Making sustainably matters to me too. I use FSC-approved plywood, buy materials in bulk where they’re sourced overseas, and work with vintage fabrics and offcuts to minimise waste wherever I can. My packaging is recycled cardboard — because the planet deserves as much care and consideration as the craft itself.
