Who we are
The Fold is a place to come together to share, learn, grow, connect, and practice new ways of conscious being for a better world Set within an award-winning eco-renovation of beamed farm buildings, The Fold in Bransford was born from a dream of setting up a haven for inspiration, creativity, and health. The site hosts an array of facilities and has run since 2007 as a not-for-profit, community interest company. Our mission is to provide inspiration, education, therapy and practice towards healthy, sustainable, creative lifestyles. The cluster of traditional buildings houses a range of designers, makers and artists’ studios and workshops, carefully curated taking into consideration ethical impact, use of recyclable and reusable materials and in support of small independent local business. There are beautifully converted rooms to hire for community groups and life's celebrations. Regular restorative movement and mindfulness workshops & classes are held onsite too – more details can be found on the website. At The Fold's heart is the vegetarian café, offering organic, seasonal menus using produce from The Fold’s own organic market garden and catering for as many people as possible, including vegan, gluten, and dairy-free options. The Farm Shop provides your full pantry stock up, organic fresh produce, gifts and more – specially taking care to promote and showcase local (UK) artisan food & drink creators. It stocks a large range of eco friendly household products and ethically aligned consumables. The Care Farm, provides meaningful activities for adults and learners with different support needs, supporting the market garden growing plan and care of the onsite hens. A school’s programme is soon to be launched to support key development stages for young people through nature-based learning and play, using natural methods in a supporting environment. The Natural Therapy Centre, provides a centre of excellence for complementary therapies, helping visitors to take positive steps towards healthier, happier lifestyles. The Fold hosts all kinds of social events, including our monthly Sunday markets (starting Sun 13 March 2022) as well as live performances and Green & Away’s events over the summer each year too. Work is underway to establish charity status to provide education and inspiration for future generations as well as a community housing project onsite. Oh and if that wasn’t enough – there are also 3 gorgeous nature trails to explore too. Dogs are welcome, parking is free and all that is missing is you!
