Tissington Craft Fair is a small, independent makers market held in the Peak District village of Tissington.
Passionate about promoting handmade products, each Tissington Craft Fair market day features a specially selected line up of 12 different artists and makers from around the local region and sometimes further afield.
Products include everything from nature inspired needle felting and ceramics to contemporary wood turning and colourful woven textiles giving visitors a variety of both heritage and more modern products to choose from.
All of our stalls are situated inside Tissington Village Hall giving a welcoming yet intimate feel to your shopping experience. Feel free to browse at your own pace and chat directly to each stallholder so you can learn more about their creative process and any custom options they may be able to make just for you!
Tissington Village forms part of the Tissington Estate, which has been privately owned by the FitzHerbert family since the 1460s. The village is unique in its beauty and character and is the perfect place to visit if you want to switch off from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. You’ll find our venue opposite the village pond where you can enjoy the stunning view and a variety of wildlife.
Tissington Hall, which was built in the early 17th century, is just a couple of minutes walk down the lane. The village is also home to a number of independent small businesses and without any of the usual high street stores, it is a delight for anyone looking to shop small.
Whilst you won’t find any food or drink stalls at our markets, Herbert’s Fine English Tearoom is only a minutes walk around the corner so you can still enjoy a tasty treat made with local produce while you soak up the village atmosphere.
The entrance to the Tissington Trail is also within walking distance of our venue so you can unwind and enjoy the breathtaking views whether walking or cycling and pop into Tissington Craft Fair before or after!
There is free entry into the craft fair for visitors and your four legged friends are more than welcome too!
Free Parking is available for up to 2 hours opposite Tissington Hall and there is also a pay and display car park in the village.
We are also very proud to hold our artisan markets during Tissington Well Dressing week, which is an annual Peak District tradition dating back centuries. Ahead of the festival, flowers and other natural materials are used to decorate large boards which are displayed on the six functioning village wells. Each board takes the village residents four days to decorate with designs carefully planned to commemorate national events and anniversaries.
During the course of the week the event attracts thousands of visitors into the village from both the local area and across the country with lovers of handmade sure to appreciate the time and skill taken to achieve the finished Well Dressings due to their mosaic like appearance.
In 2025 Tissington Well Dressing is due to take place from 29th May - 4th June, and our market will be open on the first 2 and last 3 of these days.
