Penketh and Great Sankey Market is held on the third Saturday of each month, this local artisan market features more than 60 artisan stallholders, selling the very best local food, drink, art, crafts and street food. Shop for everything you might need for a lovely weekend, enjoy great food, find homewares, gift inspiration, and much more.
Pop down for a mooch and chat to our makers and bakers. We will be showcasing many award-winning Warrington based producers each month, and there are always new faces to discover as well as old favourites.
There will be live music to provide a great atmosphere, and activities to keep our little market guests entertained too, so you can bring the whole family along!

We are thrilled to announce that Great Sankey Artisan Market will be returning from Saturday, September 20th — at a brand new location!… under a new name Penketh & Great Sankey Artisan Market
Launched 5 years ago by Independent Street in collaboration with Great Sankey Parish Council, the market quickly became a firm fixture in the local calendar. Born in the post-Covid period, it brought together residents, visitors, and makers, building a strong community spirit and a loyal following.
After five wonderful years, we’re excited to begin Part 2 of our journey!
From September, our market will be moving just down the road to Penketh & Great Sankey Con Club, Meeting Lane WA5 2BG.
This exciting new chapter will kick off with a massive comeback celebration featuring:
• Over 50 artisan stalls – including many favourites and returning award-winning traders
• Live music throughout the day by Olly Flavell
• Free kids’ craft tables provided by Create Yourself
Sand Art Workshop by Amanda
• A family show at 2pm by Kids Love 2 Party
Lisa Cowley, founder of Independent Street, said:
“The Great Sankey Artisan Market holds such a special place in our hearts. It was one of the first events we launched, and over 5 years we’ve built up an incredibly loyal following. We believe our new site at the Con Club will breathe fresh life into the event. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our comeback party in September!”
