The Mercatum Winter Artisan Market at Haddon Hall is set within historic Haddon Hall’s Main Hall and is the perfect opportunity to start your festive shopping! Held over 5 long weekends through November and December, there’s plenty of chances to shop.

Haddon Hall is a beautiful English country house located on the River Wye, near Bakewell in Derbyshire. The Hall itself is formed of a medieval manor house, with the origins of the hall lying in the 11th century, with additions at various stages between the 13th and the 17th centuries, latterly in the Tudor style, making this gorgeous historic home a wonderful place to visit - and a great venue for an artisan market!

The Hall is a former seat of the Dukes of Rutland. It is now the home of Lord Edward Manners (brother of the incumbent Duke) and his family.

Lord & Lady Edward Manners cordially invite you to join them for Haddon Hall’s Winter Mercatum 2025, an exquisite Christmas market and a perfect opportunity to wander the grounds of Haddon Hall at Christmas to buy presents or treat yourself to something unique. Our street food area and restaurant has something for everyone.

No dogs allowed on site. We cannot admit pushchairs.

TICKET INFORMATION - Tickets available to pre-book, please see link above on this page. You can also purchase tickets on arrival on the day.

A ‘Green Travel Ticket’ is available to buy on the day, at the Ticket Office, upon proof of travel by bike or bus. We are encouraging ‘green travel’ and would love you to visit the market via these transport methods!

FOR STALLHOLDERS -

Our Mercatum events are going from strength to strength and growing extensively in scale, reputation and popularity over the years. The Mercatum is supported by a comprehensive marketing campaign, designed to reflect the quality of the events and to support and promote the exhibiting artisans and makers. To date, the markets have succeeded in attracting significant regional and national press and television coverage.

We welcome applications from makers working in all forms and materials. Details of how to apply will be available below soon. In the meantime, for further information and if you are interested in applying, please contact our Event Coordinator, Julie Mellor, by emailing [email protected].
