Leeds is known as a student city, with great nightlife, varied restaurants and a low cost of living, but its historic textile industry and scenic West Yorkshire surroundings also make it a cultural and commercial hub. It’s home to some fantastic markets and events too, so we’ve done a round-up of the best Leeds markets for your to explore…
Why local markets?
Markets are fun to shop from, to see such a variety of goods and great food. But what makes them truly special is the people – friendly stallholders and meeting other people in the local community. Conversations with friends, meeting up with family and supporting one another.
Have you been to Harewood House?
One of Leeds’ best historic attractions, the Royal Household of Harewood House provides a fantastic venue for markets. Since Covid, their markets are slowly making their way back, with Yorkshire-based organiser Little Bird Artisan’s Harewood House market coming back with a bang in November 2022.
