Who we are

Bough & Burrow is a handcraft business based in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, on the edge of the Cotswolds. I make hand-crafted wooden objects from reclaimed, foraged, and coppiced wood. I only work with what the land has already given or what has already had a life rather than what a timber yard can supply.

My current range includes hand-crafted walking sticks and hiking staves, tealight holders, candle holders, “KyndaLog” candlelight pieces with integrated fairy lights, wood slice mosaics, air plant holders, and natural craft materials including willow shoot bundles, hazel craft sticks, and Y-fork sticks, for wand-making, whittling, and bushcraft.

Every walking stick I make is built around traceable British materials. Hazel shanks come from the 100 Acer Conservation Project — a rare wet woodland in the Gloucestershire countryside where I volunteer and practise traditional coppicing. Mineral inlays include red ochre from Wick Ochre Mines, Cornish slate and turquoise, and fuchsite mica. Wrist straps are hand-braided jute with copper-bound ends. Each stick is finished with Danish oil and natural beeswax from Rhoose Point in South Wales. All of my pieces follow the same approach – shaped by the wood’s own character, finished with natural oils or beeswax, and made one at a time. No two items are the same.

Bough & Burrow pieces are sold through a shelf at the Crafters Shop in Wotton-under-Edge, at craft fairs across the Cotswolds, and through my own website at boughandburrow.uk.
