Who we are

Named after a very special cat, Mushypeadesign is a Liverpool-based, micro indie business which creates intricate, original, hand made paper cut art and gifts, dioramas, greetings cards, stickers and a range of hand made acrylic earrings, necklaces, bracelets and pins and brooches.
Many moons ago, I studied a BTec in Illustration and Design, but as a paper artist and jewellery designer, I’m mainly self taught. After working within retail and education for a number of years I decided to follow my dreams and love of drawing and making to create my own indie brand making gorgeous acrylic earrings I like to wear and paper art that’s both detailed and unique.
My work reflects my love of pattern, (love a bit of leopard print), wildlife, folk tales, pop culture and colour. I like my designs to have a playful approach and I love experimenting with materials and mixed media. My jewellery designs range from everyday to bold statement pairs of earrings and necklaces, hand etched onto acrylic with either gold/silver plated findings which are also hypoallergenic. The brooches and pins are all digitally printed onto recycled plastic from my original artwork. I create in small batches with diverse designs and due to their handcrafted nature, no two pieces are ever the same which makes them more bespoke.
As a mainly self taught paper artist, I love the technique of illustrating with intricate cuts and creating texture and depth by adding multi layers, collage and painting to create a unique, delicate piece of art. Original pieces can take up to 40 hours to cut by hand.
I also produce greetings cards and some sticker sets, which are digitally printed from my artwork. Being planet and eco friendly is very important, so all my cards and packaging are printed/made of recycled card. For Christmas, I add to my range with hand painted glass baubles.
