*NEW NEWS* Lucy Jane Illustrations has just won ‘Best in the South West’ at the NMTF Young Traders event.
My name is Lucy Jane and I am a watercolour and ink based illustrator, focusing my work around nature and wildlife. I create a selection of watercolour originals, pen and ink prints, notebooks and stationery as well textile goods such as make-up bags and tea-towels, all maintaining a minimal, natural study style.
My inspiration is taken from around me as I live in a small cottage in the countryside. Countryside animals are often the theme for my work along with flora and fauna I find when I am out walking. I take commissions of beloved pets but I can only take 2-3 a month as these can take up to 2 weeks to produce to get the exact quirky features you love right.
In the last 2 years I have been slowly setting up my illustrative business and I have been attending local markets, Christmas markets and was a finalist at the 2019 NMFT Young Traders market. In 2020 I won best in the ‘Arts and Crafts’ category along with ‘Best in the South West’ at the NMFT Young Traders Market. In 2018 I won ‘Young Creative’ and in 2019 I won ‘Best Start up Business’ at the Creative Bath Awards with Flourish Magazine.
