Who we are

Joanna Allen is an Artist, Printmaker and Textile Designer based in Peak District. She graduated with a Degree in Printed Textiles from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Joanna has launched collections of her print designs for both fashion and the home.

The starting point for all Joanna’s designs is her original artwork. These include mixed media paintings, and hand printed intaglio prints, including collagraphs and monoprints. Joanna loves working in monoprint, often adding layers of watercolour, pastels, and even salt and bleach to create an elegant and romantic style.

The design process then enters a very creative journey as designs are adapted and manipulated on the computer using Photoshop. Colours are altered, and layouts and scale often played around with to arrive at the final design. Lastly, selected designs are digitally printed on to silks for scarves, and onto cotton velvet and linens for cushions, then professionally hand finished.

Joanna also sells framed and mounted original artworks, plus selected images are also sold as signed limited edition giclee prints and greeting cards, so there is something there for every price bracket.
