Who we are
Creating hugs to mugs in my world!
Put the kettle on Duck!
Hello beautiful people welcome to Denise O’Sullivan.
Headed by Denise lover of clay, the sticky wet stuff dug out of the ground that’s awesome to make marks into and paint on.
I have a neat studio in Stoke-on-Trent, England home of the once massive pottery industries and smoke pumping bottle kilns. That is now thriving in its own rights as a great indie creative hub and I am a proud Stokie.
I share my studio setting with my partner who has his own business trading in reclamation. A great help when I need muscle, the kettle popping on or the kiln emptying. In return for beers and good food.
I have a home studio (aka the converted garage) where I work from at weekends, evenings, wintertime and my main savior throughout lockdown.
My works vary from hand painted black and white home wares to hand made hangings and pebble shaped huggaloves.
I drink way too much tea and my life is pretty much filled with family, cats, tea, cake and clay.
And I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Follow my journey and see where I go next.
My moto is always ‘smile everyday’ and ‘always be awesome, always’
Denise

Happy Clay times
“Designing and making is my passion, my lifestyle, something I fell in love with as a child. I grew up in ‘The Potteries’, where I had a happy childhood surrounded by the pot banks of Stoke-on-Trent and going to numerous antique fairs, where I became an avid collector of nik naks. My work is steeped in my family heritage from my hometown of Stoke-on-Trent, where I spent many happy hours sitting on pot banks as a child.”
