Who we are
When I launched Tissington Craft Fairs in 2022, I wanted our artists and makers to take centre stage by focussing entirely on handmade products and original artwork. Having previously been a stallholder in this venue myself, I drew on my own experiences to ensure that each event would be welcoming to both new and more experienced sellers and run in a way that I’d be happy with if I was attending myself. Today our makers market is thriving with customers thrilled and often pleasantly surprised that a market with only 12 stalls can offer such a high standard! I manage all aspects of our makers market, including personally reviewing each stallholder application and curating every market. I also design and maintain our website and social media, although my very patient partner does give me a hand on the day. I always look for a high standard of quality and skill and it is essential that all items for sale are either handmade by the stallholders themselves or created using their original artwork. I aim for our market to showcase genuine artisan makers, allowing our customers to appreciate the origins of each product and discover the stories behind them. I enjoy taking the personal approach and know that our stallholders appreciate the time and care I put in to making every market special. Marianne x
