Wylde Thistle is a business passionate about celebrating Scottish craftsmanship and the incredible wealth of creative talent throughout the country.
Running markets in Scotland, we wanted to find out more about what makes their markets and events special, more about their foundation and history, and the events they have coming up.
Tell us more about how Wylde Thistle support Scottish artisans…
It all started with independent makers Alice and Clair living and working in the West of Scotland, who met whilst attending Ayrshire craft markets.
Wylde Thistle was born in 2022, with the commitment and enthusiasm to bring the best of the West’s creative community to a wider audience through markets, workshops and special pop up events. We have progressed and developed quickly, securing two partnerships at prestigious Ayrshire venues (with more to be announced later in 2023), holding artisan markets, craft workshops and opening a bricks and mortar store in spring 2023!
Alice and Clair continue to work hard to develop Wylde Thistle and celebrate our local exciting, vibrant and unique artisan community within Scotland.

Artisan Markets at Marine Troon
Wylde Thistle run seasonal markets at Marine Troon.
Hosted at the stunning Marine Troon (next to Royal Troon), our first market of the year presents new makers, beautiful crafts and produce and even a spot or two of gin, rum and cocktail tasting!
We have an amazing line up of local artisans waiting to welcome you and share their spring collections – perfect gifting for Mothers Day or just simply a well deserved treat.
You will find apothecary items, candles, jewellery, textiles, wood, ceramics, glass, fine art, photography, embroidery, decorative interiors, pop up bakery and even a florist! Meet our award-winning craft gin distillers and cocktail makers, all waiting to share a chat and a tipple or two…

Artisan Markets at Kelburn Estate
Hosted in the pretty pavilion at the stunning Kelburn Estate, our Spring Artisan Market brings our incredible artisans new and old back to this fantastic venue!
Our Summer Artisan Market at Kelburn Estate offers an amazing line up of local makers waiting to welcome you and present their impressive range of craft and produce, from apothecary, candles, jewellery, textiles, wood, ceramics, glass, fine art, photography, embroidery, decorative interiors, pop up bakery and even an award winning gin distiller… or two!
Treat yourself to some sunshine food courtesy of our Caribbean street food van and enjoy coffee made from the freshly ground blends of our mobile barista.
We also have a florist bringing seasonal blooms grown in her own Ayrshire fields and currently being tended to by a pair of extremely busy pigs – come along and choose your own stems or a beautifully made bouquet!
Last but not least – we have alpacas on the pavilion lawn! Book your meet and greet session with a friendly alpaca who will take you for a short walk and oodles of fun! Booking information can be found on our website
