Also representing rebirth, it is said that the wearer of an Emerald can have better foresight, wisdom, patience and good fortune.

June Birthstone – Pearl

Pearl can come in various colours, in varying shades of purples, creams and whites.

This stone represents health and longevity (probably due to the nature of how pearls are formed), and pearls are even believed to hold life-restoring powers!

Other stones for June birthdays can be Alexandrite and Moonstone – all gorgeous pale stones.

July Birthstone – Ruby

The bright red colour of rubies signifies passion, with these stones representing fire and emotion. However, they can also symbolise contentment, as they represent the success of love and stir the imagination and senses.

It is also believed that rubies help their wearer become wiser and protected against misfortune.

August Birthstone – Peridot

Beautiful Peridot is a pale green colour, representing illuminating thoughts, protection against bad dreams and evil spirits, and marital happiness.

Sardonyx is another great stone for August birthdays, representing courage and happiness.

Sapphire is ideal for September birthdays; a deep blue stone representing clear thinking and emotional balance.

Said to protect the wearer from envy and harm, ancient priests believed the Sapphire could help them predict the future!

October Birthstone – Opal

Opal can come in various shades, from pink to blue to everything in between!

Said to dispel fear, wearing this stone is meant to aid your friendships, stimulate positive feelings and give hope.

Pink Tourmaline can also be an October birthstone, thought to promote sympathy and help the wearer overcome anxious feelings.

November Birthstone – Citrine

A beautiful yellow-orange stone, Citrine is thought to bring the wearer happiness – perhaps due to its sunny colour. Representing wealth and vitality, this pretty stone is always a great choice when present-buying.

Yellow Topaz is another November birthstone, with similar meanings.

December Birthstone – Turquoise

Turquoise is thought to bring its wearer good fortune, and Native Americans associated the colours of this stone with the blue sky and green earth. Having such a connection to nature is a beautiful meaning.
