A Day Out at Treacle Market

At the Market

A Day Out at Treacle Market with Pedddle Founder Nicki.

Treacle Market, Pedddle

Have you been on a day out at Treacle Market yet? Don’t worry if not – Pedddle Found Nicki recently had a day out at Treacle Market, and she’s here to show you around…

The market started in 2010 and now runs monthly – so there’s plenty of chances for you to visit. Each month sees the traditional cobbled Marketplace, Old Butter Market, St Michael’s churchyard and the surrounding streets throng with visitors from all over the country, as well as over 160 vibrant stalls filled with unique crafts, exceptional, lovingly-produced food and drink, as well as vintage finds. Many local shops, galleries and cafes are open on the market days to, so the whole town gets involved and there’s plenty to keep you and the whole family entertained!

A Day Out at Treacle Market

Pedddle Founder Nicki recently took a train journey to Macclesfield and had a good stroll around the Treacle Market, meeting some of the fabulous stallholders and makers there.

It’s a market the Pedddle team have enjoyed many times, due to its history and reputation of regularly providing a great day out!

Macclesfield’s Treacle Market has been exceptionally popular since its inception in 2010, and for the last decade has brought well over 150 stalls to the historic Macclesfield Marketplace on the last Sunday of every month (except December) for many years now.

As one of the largest Artisan Markets in the North West, at this regular event you can find food, drink, unique crafts, vintage finds and so much more. It has pretty much everything you could want from a market – when you think ‘artisan market’, you would picture something like Treacle Market in your mind’s eye. It’s a fantastic place for gift shopping too – especially with a year of birthdays and celebrations ahead!

There is always plenty to see, smell and taste – the setting itself is just so beautiful and it’s the ideal day out for all the family or a great place to meet friends for a good catch up.

With so many stalls to wander around, there’s always a lovely atmosphere and it makes for a great way start your Sunday. Lots of Pedddle stallholders sell here too, so there’s always stallholders to say hello to!

This market has a fantastic reputation, and people travel from all over the UK to visit this brilliant, regularly occurring, artisan market. You can see in these photos just how bustling it is – and that’s on a relatively quiet day!

Nicki actually created a YouTube video to show you her time at Treacle. Check out her video on A Day Out at Treacle Market below:
