Who we are

Treewight create handmade wood wares, such as traditional wooden bowls, spoons, dibbers, boxes, toys, back scratchers, goblets, kitchenware and various rustic products.

Owned by Robin, at Treewright everything is a ‘one-off’ and totally unique. I can tell you exactly what type of wood has been used and where it’s come from!

All of the products I make are from English timber, mostly cut by myself from my woodland, managed with a view to encouraging flora and fauna.

I have a workshop in the woodland where everything is made using the old ways of working wood; no electricity, just my own muscle power! My workshop at home is in Waltham Abbey, where I can work all year round, even at night, and I produce a wide range of products with something for everyone, for the home, garden and just for fun.

Sometimes I come across old pieces of wood, say a chair leg or broken table and I re-purpose or up-cycle new things from old…

I give pole lathe turning, spoon carving and green woodwork demonstrations at outside events during the late spring, summer and autumn, where I have a fully interactive display, and I encourage folks to ‘have-a-go’ at woodworking the old way.

I attend many regular craft and makers markets, as well as pop-up markets all over the South East and London throughout the year.

My Green Woodwork Courses are run mid-week and at weekends, and are on a one-to-one basis by mutual arrangement – it’s your course so we’ll go with the flow! I’ll guide you and pass on my skills for you to use at home and with your family.

Contact me directly via email for full details of all of the things I get involved with…and perhaps I’ll see you at a market soon!
