Who we are
Hi, I’m Elaine, the maker behind Odeda Jewellery. I create handmade pieces that bring together influences from architecture, nature and ancient symbols, shaped into designs that explore ideas of transformation, change and resilience.
I tend to work either from my home studio near Milton Keynes or shared studio space in London, using recycled sterling silver, gold vermeil, and 9ct gold, along with ethically sourced gemstones. I care deeply about sustainability – it’s at the heart of what I do – from the materials I choose to the way I work and package each piece.
Depending on the design, I use a combination of traditional jewellery making techniques and metal clay. I let the process guide me, allowing shapes and textures to develop in a way that feels intuitive but always intentional. I’m drawn to forms that carry meaning without being too obvious — a quiet sort of symbolism. I want my pieces to feel good to wear and to say something in their own quiet way.
Before starting Odeda Jewellery, I worked as a lawyer. Making jewellery started as something on the side — but over time, it became clear this was the work I wanted to be doing. Slower, more hands-on, and more connected to the things I care about.
Where you can find me:
I am a regular at markets and events in London – but have also taken part in events further afield including Handmade Oxford and the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in Newcastle.
My current collections include:
ARCHES: Like ancient arches symbolised journeys of leaving behind the old to embrace the new, these pieces represent the first steps in leaving behind the familiar to embrace fresh paths.
MANDALA: Inspired by the inner core of a mandala, thought to symbolize personal transformation across various cultures. These intricate designs are meant to be worn as a reminder of one’s journey and potential for growth.
SEEDPOD: Sculpted using real poppy seedpods, this collection reflects nature’s cycles of renewal. Seedpods in particular evoke the idea of dormant strength – potential waiting to flourish in its own time.
