Who we are

I’m Clare and I’m the creative brain and hands behind jewellery brand LollaMac. I specialise in sterling silver and mixed metal jewellery, handcrafting each piece individually from my studio in rural Northumberland. Formerly an engineer turned maths teacher, I came to jewellery making in 2016. I’m largely self-taught, and take great satisfaction in using traditional tools and techniques to create texture and form, thus transforming an unassuming piece of metal into wearable art.

Each piece of LollaMac jewellery starts its life as flat metal sheet or wire, which I then cut, saw, texture, form, solder and finish entirely by hand. All my silver comes from recycled stock, and all offcuts and waste are further recycled within my workshop. All my larger pieces are hallmarked by the London Assay Office, as required by UK law.

The Northumbrian landscape surrounding my home and studio provides much of my inspiration, and lends itself perfectly to the earthy tones of the copper and brass which feature so heavily in my work. With its understated style and signature combinations of sterling silver, copper and brass, the LollaMac collection contains a range of pieces that can be easily mixed and matched for any occasion.

As well as making jewellery, I also teach jewellery making workshops where you can come along and produce your own beautiful creations!
