Who we are
Hi, I’m April, the designer, maker and face of 20 Seventh Letter. I started my business in 2016, drawing prints inspired by exotic plants from botanical gardens and paired them with safari animals to give a pop of colour.
I studied Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University and went on to work in different design and product development roles in fashion, homeware and stationery. The more my career progressed, the less creative my roles became and I decided to fulfil my creative need by designing for myself. With my love for fabrics and experience in sewing, it was a natural choice to print onto cloth.
I draw all the prints myself, all cloth is printed in the UK and I cut and sew a large proportion of the products myself, with help from other UK based seamstresses.
My ethos is to create unique prints, support British manufacturing and to encourage a low waste approach by using off-cuts of cloth where possible to create something new.
